Student Outcomes: 

Graduates in the NMSU Information Engineering Technology program will have:

1. The ability to analyze and solve problems in the information technology field by applying mathematics, science, engineering, and technology.

2. The ability to design systems that include electronics, electrical components, computer architecture, and infrastructure including applications of computer systems, communications and digital signal propagation needed in data transport.

3. The effective use of communication skills to prepare and present technical reports, presentations, and documentation for facilities*.

4. The ability to conduct standard tests, measurements, and laboratory experiments and to analyze and interpret the results to improve processes.

5. Employ project management techniques, as a lead or team member, for the design and implementation of facilities* that process and transfer information.

*Facilities are defined to include operating systems, networks, media, databases, computers, security, and information technology systems.
