  • Understand aid types:
    • Grants – aid that doesn’t need to be repaid.
    • Scholarships – awarded based on criteria to support education.
    • Work-Study – earn money through a work program.
    • Loans – borrowed money that must be repaid with interest.
  • View available scholarships and apply via Scholar Dollar$.
  • Learn about SAT/ACT exams (ACT requirement: 21).
  • Attend college fairs with your child, but let them lead the conversation.
  • Request a Campus Visit to NMSU.
